Note:  Nano-sensors of force and cantilever are the most common nano-sensors of force. The probe is installed at the end of the beam and the force is found by examining the reflection of the laser landing on the back of the beam. 

In cantilever nanosensors, the force between the sample and the tip of the probe causes the beam to bend flexibly. The amount of bending is displayed and recorded with position-sensitive detectors (light-emitting diodes) located in four quadrants. Optical detectors receive a laser beam that strikes the back of the pole and breaks it. The back of the beam is often covered with a thin layer of metal that makes it a mirror. Each small deformation of the beam tilts the laser beam and changes its collision position on the optical detectors. The difference between the signs of the two optical detectors indicates the amount of beam failure. The amount of failure according to the  elastic properties of the beam is then converted to the force on the tip of the probe based on mathematical equations. 

The distance between the beam and the optical detectors  is about three times the length of the beam. Such an optical arrangement can well magnify the movement of the probe tip and provide a very high sensitivity  Other methods, such as interference and piezoelectricity, have been used to find beam failure. But LED  lighting is more common because it is cheaper, easier to work with, and more accurate.Accurate measurement of parameters on a very small scale (nano), such as physical changes or the presence of chemical species, and force measurement requires the use of cantliever sensors at the nanoscale. Cantliever force nanosensors use nanoscale sensor elements that the sensitivity of this type of nanomaterial is high enough. Also, materials made of nanosensors should have high durability and strength and good electrical properties. In general, the important features of nanosensors are higher selectivity, higher sensitivity, smaller dimensions and cheaper price. Cantliever power nanosensors are inherently smaller and more sensitive than other sensors and have more industrial and military applications.
